How I saved an Apple Store from certain disaster

I went ot the Apple Store today to watch the MWSF keynote. I tried to get it streaming but it wasnt happening. All the employees were bummed, saying it wasnt working there, that it was a problem with the ISP or something lame, and that we should go to maccentral for the lastest updates. Anyway, I got on the macrumors IRC channel through the java client on an 17in imac. A suggestion came about that switch from udp streaming to http in quicktime was solving problems. Minutes later, the keynote was being watched on a 23in cinema disply in all its glory, and everyone was happy. (we missed the FCE demo)

Was there the same problem at all the Apple Stores? Did they hand out any gifts?

i dont know about other stores, but the one in Novi didnt know what was going on

no gifts, just everybody standing around watching

That makes me feel better. I was ambivalent about going to the CambridgeSide Galleria or to watch it online!
