2003 Predictions

In light of all the threads predicting hardware for 2003, I figured that there should be one for more general predictions. What do you think will occur in the coming year?

Here are some of mine:
* Iraq invaded around April
* LOTR: ROTK become the first movie ever to make $300 in 2 weeks
* A nuke is detonated somewhere in the world as a "warning shot" (Prime Candidates for launching: U.S. ,India, Pakistan, North Korea, Iraq?, Isreal)
* Gateway collapses
* Shrimp industry boom
* Andy Richter Controls the Universe renewed for another season

Of course this is all just idle speculation.

Gone3D will have some pre-production motion models of the principal SPLAT! Characters.

The Middle East will be Occupied by Alliance forces to expidite WOT efforts.

Saddam Hussein will become the Castro of Arabia.

Apple will go the whole year without satisfying Hardware Fanboy wants..... until the 970 in hits at MWNY.

Somewhere, some fool will clone some other fool and **** up the whole technology before anything USEFUL can come of it.

The iWalk will re-encarnate.

That's my predictions. I have this weird feeling that they are going
to turn out to be correct. ;)

iraq will apologize and avert a war

the 970 chip will debut late in the year in an apple machine

LOTR ROTK will make 300 mil in 2 weeks,

A "skirmish" will occur with Iraq resulting in a decisive US victory

The economy of the US will remain steadily at what it is

The black adder will get killed in the next few episodes

Matrix reloaded debuts at 100 mil in first week

Democrats lose even more ground as George Bush gains popularity with war in Iraq.

Just a few opinions, probably only one will be true.:D

Ovi, great predictions! Don't disagree with any of them. I pray that your predictions come true, good for Apple & the World! I too would be on could nine, maybe our dream system will come sooner rather than later! :)

as much as i usually don't agree with about 70 percent of what you say, your predictions seem quite likely

even if the dems win the white house, i could see the house and senate going more gop

i also see if bush wins, he may lose ground either in the senate or house, or even both

as to the market going up 20 percent, i would say between now and december, 10 percent would be just fine for now

apple will release faster systems, but not likely by 300 percent, but doubling of speeds will be great

one thing i know, with the apple lineup the way it is right now, anything you upgrade to will be totally cool up and down;)

either the philadelphia eagles or the tampa bay buccaneers

Here's my shot:

Jets will win the SuperBowl

It will be another East and/or West coast World Series.

US will invade Iraq, Saddam will not be "Officially" found.

A nuclear weapon will be used, and not for testing purposes.

Bush will maintain high popularity, leading to an '04 GOP (oops not supposed to use that anymore) Republican victory.

More constitutional rights will be taken my the Bush Regime.

More layoffs at coorporation, while bounesses paid to the CEO, CFO, etc.

More of my money will be taken by the government, while less will be taken from the wealthy.

I will continue in a low paying job, for fear of unemployment.

On a brighter note, someone (AMD, IBM, or Intel) will debute a 64-bit chip for high-end consumers 4th Quarter '03.

I predict more people will whine about the "rich"!

Here's one example of why we should stop this...

Due to the luxury tax, boat sales fell over 77% since 1991. This resulted in $97 million in lost tax revenues and 25,000 people lost their jobs.

That's a good way to help the economy!

Of course at the urging of Senators George Mitchell and Ted Kennedy this tax is now gone as of midnight Jan. 1st. You see they supported it, but when their states were hard hit by this (most boats are built in their states), they sort of changed their tune.

When my employer makes more money and services more clients, I make more money too. Certainly not as much as the owner (only room enough for one dream here), but I still make more. That means when more people are willing to pay us, I profit.
