I told some of my friends about it closing at $80.86. I was laughing geekily, and they just thought I was a lunatic.

Anyone else notice that Apple's market capitalization today is hovering at $70 billion, while Dell's is at $73 billion..? If AAPL can surge another 5% soon, Apple might be worth more than Dell.

This is amazing! And now one analysist has predicts it to go to $100! Do you think there will be a stock split or will AAPL want to be like GOOG and continue to climp

Apple has split it's stock in the past (most recently just a year ago)...why would they stop now?

You never know what it might do - but it is a rare thing that its higher after an event. A split would be nice :D

yes, but dell will still be a better value. a p/e of 24 for dell vs. 54 for aapl. aapl's run up has been purely emotional and herd mentality for the past few months (see google)

Hate to say it, but the time might be approaching to short AAPL. I'll be watching this one closely once it hits $90... What a great run though, I've already made a decent amount of money off it. Not as much as I could have of course, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Stock wise, it seems unlikely that Apple can maintain its 11-fold rise of the last two years. I think the company has growth and success in its future, but 11-fold doesn't seem possible.

Gosh darn it. I really wish i had known something about stocks and had thought to put some of my money into Apple a few years ago.

I just sold my 200 shares at $84.33. Bought in on 10/27/04 for the equivalent of $24.90.

It was a great ride...thanks AAPL. I don't know that I'd short the stock right now, but I think upside is limited. I debated selling a month ago, but I'm glad I didn't...got some additional run-up and pushed the capital gain into 2006.

I've made a lot in this run up. SOld some at last split and still have 400 shares at a cost basis of $11 and change. I will be watching closely.

If my shares do in fact make it to $100, I may be able to buy a new car soon!

Bought at $34 before the last split. Own a couple hundred.

I'm with them for the long haul, as all indications are that Apple might reach $150-200 by years end -- if not sooner -- through the release of new toys.

I'll give it a little while, and I guess in a way it's a little blasphemous, but I am seriously considering it depending how things go and if I get the right signals...

This bit of news greeted my inbox:

UBS ups Apple Computer price target to $100 from $86 (AAPL) By Steve Goldstein

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- UBS upped its price target on Apple Computer (AAPL) to $100 from $86 and kept a buy rating on the stock, citing Apple's revenue guidance. "While expectations ran high heading into this keynote in terms of product possibilities, we believe Apple's performance in the first quarter 2006 far outweighs any product announcements made (or not made) at the event and should drive momentum in shares," the broker said.
