I am ready to buy the new 12 inch PowerBook, but wonder if it will accept my older Airport card. Anyone know?

From what I've read and seen, no. They're totally different slots.
It won't work the other way around either, the "g" standard is too fast to work in the older, slower "b" slots.

I very much doubt it. The new Airport Extreme cards use a completely different type of connector than the old cards.

if you watched the keynote, the airport extreme card is an actual flat card (like a PCI card), with gold connecctors to fit in a slot. Airport is a card with pins. there's not going to be an adaptor either way, except perhaps a PC card version of airport extreme once 3rd parties get interested... that i could see, since Wi-Fi was PC-card compatable to begin with...
