Is the new 1Ghz Powermac an Apollo? Does anybody know?

I am not an expert but apples web site describes the new powermac as having "a quantum increase in processing power, an ultraefficient new system architecture" so perhaps this means its an apollo...

Nope, I don't believe so. Apollo was supposed to use DDR RAM, but these G4's are still stuck at PC133.

the numbers are in MIPS (found on motorolas site).

If my simple calculations are correct:

the old G4 does 1.8@1MHz or 1566@867MHz
the new G4 does 2.28@1MHz or 1977@867MHz

I smell a G5 this summer. Let me see...G5 will be announce at NY and upgrade for imac this summer.

I would really love to get the Dual 1ghz, but I have a feeling that G5 will be rolling out this summer at 1.4ghz, so I am waiting and waiting..and waiting...:O)
