Does anyone have a PAL (UK) copy of this game, boxed, with manual in totally mint condition that they are willing to part with? I know it's not Apple-related, but I'm not having much luck finding one on eBay...

I thought you meticulous bunch might have something.

Let me know!

I have it, but it's the NTSC version (well it's from the US).

I thought only the console mattered if it was PAL or NTSC...the actual games matter too?!

'Fraid so :(
PAL games on PAL machines and NTSC on NTSC machines only.
The only console currently 'region free' is the Game Boy.

umm... i dont think thats true, I hear about people importing games all the time, and I know for a fact the PSP is reigon free. Before electroplankton came out in the US a lot of people imported it to the US

Well you can use converter which you plug into the N64 itself and then piggyback the foreign game on, or make a mod to your console.
Although the US NTSC Nintendo 64 console, the Japanese NTSC and the European PAL Nintendo 64's are almost identical, there is a small safeguard built into the units to prevent you from playing import software. If you try to fit a Japanese game cart into a US console, you will find that it will simply not fit into the slot.

Those 'blocks' line up with the notching on the cartridge, and the different regions have those block and notches in different places.
Of course, you can open your N64 up and remove them and your N64 becomes region free.

The PSP does have regional locks - just for UMD movies, not games ;)
