Well, I have this HTPC in my basement running my projector that I just don't need anymore. For the past year I've been using it only as a HTPC (home theater PC, feeding video and HD off air to my projector), wasting electricity and 95% of the resources of this machine.

The machine itself is in excellent condition, the case is clean and about as attractive as a PC can be. It's an Antec case with a 300W powersupply in it.

Inside of there is a Athalon XP 1800+ (1.53 GHz) running on a Soyo Dragon ATX motherboard. The dragon has onboard 6ch audio (currently disabled), onboard LAN (10/100), all the great legacy ports.

For expansion cards, it's got a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (http://www.turtlebeach.com/site/kb_ftp/585ftp.asp) sound card with a whole host of features. For video, it's running a Nvidia GeForce Ti4600 (128MB version). Finally (and most important), it has a myHD 120 card in there to decode off air HD signals. Basically, this thing can run as a HD decoder box and media center for you doing everything from TV broadcasts to DIVX movies.

For memory it has 512 MB of Mushkin CAS 2 RAM and (at my initial ask) a 40 GB 7200 RPM hard drive. It also includes the standard MS keyboard and mouse, but I'll admit, the mouse has seen better days.

I'm looking for roughly 400 obo for the system as it stands there.

Now where it gets interesting, these are the other goodies that I can offer with it as well if either the price is right, or the trade is right....

250 GB 7200 RPM HD (Maxtor I think)
160 GB 7200 RPM HD (Seagate I think, but I might have reversed the two)
19" Samsung SyncMaster 955DF CRT monitor. This is an amazing monitor with beautiful color, my art student roommate is borrowing as a graphics display right now. I'm not an art snob, but I guess they love it.
Second 19" Samsung SyncMaster 955DF.

Both of these monitors are quite heavy, so I think shipping would be prohibitively expensive on them.

Now, if you have the right stuff (or access to it, or part of it, etc), I'm willing to a trade. I'm looking for a HDTV decode box, something like the RCA one on buy.com for 150. If it has a VGA (or DVI that can be converted to VGA) out, then it'll work for me. I also need to replace this machine somehow for windows compatibility. I used a thinkpad T21 last year for a while and really enjoyed it. It was respectably fast (no where near this mind you), decent in size (ok, it was a brick) and a nice screen. If you have a laptop like this, then substitute it for the T21. The better the laptop (or HDTV box), the more goodies I'm willing to include (I've got a bunch more computer gear, I just don't know what people might want).

I'm really open to hearing deals or trades here, so don't be afraid to ask. I can also provide pictures if I get some serious requests.

Ben

Oh yeah, I forgot to put this down, for shipping, I'll be more than fair (you can look at my record on ebay "grefe"). I'm also willing to drive a considerable distance (70 miles?) to avoid shipping altogether. Currently, I am (and so is the hardware) in Rochester NY, despite what my profile may say.

How much for just the 250GB drive?

I just bought a whole bunch of things for under 400 to build a mid range gaming rig:
1 AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1 Antec case w/ 400 watt PSU
1 100 GB SATA HD
1 MSI MOBO w/ sata1,2 support raid 6channel audio socket 754
1 OEM Windows XP Pro w/ SP2

all of that was for under 380 (includiing shipping) and will kick the tush of the rig your selling. I think a better asking price would be around 300 (only due to the vid and hd card) w/o the cards about 175-200. I just hate seeing people get ripped off.

Well, I do appreciate your price comparison, and I agree with it, however you're missing out on the one piece (which I said in my description basically accounts for a majority of the price). The HD tuner card is basically the kicker for this machine, and if you want one you want one. Otherwise, I do agree, the system that you built is for most practical purposes faster than this machine.

It was built with basically two purposes in mind. The first and formost was as an HTPC. The second was a backup windows machine for my mac when I need specific programs.

However, thank you for your input, I do appreciate it.

Ben
