All--

My son's classroom has 3 older iMacs. One of them, the green one, has a note on the screen that says it has a bad power supply. Does anyone have one they would be willing to donate? I'd be happy to arrange for the appropriate tax receipt.

Alternatively, does anyone have a similar iMac they'd like to donate or sell? I cringe at the thought of his school converting to Windows--they appear to be firmly ensconced in the Mac camp.

Thank you all in advance!

Bob

I have a graphite iMac DV+, but I'd need to get some cash for it.

Also, unless you are VERY good at taking things apart and not getting sat on your (butt) real fast, I don't think the iMac power supply is an easy replace, The original iMac's we not meant to be taken apart.

Thanks very much for replying!

I'm fairly good at taking things apart--and getting them back together, and am pretty fair with a soldering iron etc...

That said, would you mind emailing me with a figure for the iMac? I'm bob@robertedwardslaw.com

Thanks again!

Bob

Hi Bob,

I have a working Blue iMac (333Mhz I believe) that I would be happy to pass on to a good cause, if you pay for shipping. PM me if interested.

i just happen to have an imac g3 233-333 powersupply board sitting in my room, fully functioning...well it was before i took the computer apart, im pretty sure it will be fine. just pay shipping if you want it. (btw...to get to this you have to remove the bottom pannel, system tray, outside color plastic, shield, and then it sits against one of the sides of the crt.

save the imacs!!!!

If, for some reason, you can't get one here, eBay had plenty last time I checked.

I would make sure you check to make sure its not the PAV/Anaolog board as it can cause it not to turn on, no video, etc... Those are more likely to go bad then the Power Supply itself. That series was notorious for those going bad... Good Luck!
