I was hoping WoW would be this week but apparently not. Hopefully next week will be the week. I can't wait to see if it's going to run as good as they're saying.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 best see a universal binary, though knowing ASPYR they'll probably release the update built into an expansion pack (there's already 2 available on the pc) and force us to shell out again.........

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same with Doom 3 - release the 'Ressurection of Evil' expansion with the update of the original doom 3 as universal......

And indeed you would be correct. UT2004 Universal Binary patch has been posted to VersionTracker this evening: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22450

I just wish I had a suitable Mac to play the game on...

MacMinute posted this:

Destineer's MacSoft unit today announced that Epic Games has released a Universal Application for Unreal Tournament 2004 (199 MB). The universal application for Mac OS X brings MacSoft's Unreal Tournament 2004 current to the 3369.2 patch. "The speed gains we’'re seeing on the new iMacs are simply incredible," said MacSoft General Manager Al Schilling. "Our time-demo comparisons show that Ryan has managed to literally double the frame rate of UT04 as compared to running on the iMac G5. Anyone running UT04 on an Intel-based iMac needs this update. Anyone with an Intel iMac, who does not own UT04, needs to go buy it now!"

The funny thing is that MacSoft has never hosted any of the patches or even this Universal Binary. I guess they don't do anything unless it has to do with sales.

I just noticed that there is no MacSoft website now. The URL points to Atari/Infogrames and that website doesn't have any Mac section.

Glad to see they got the patch out for UT2004 and even better to see they're reporting big improvements. I just wish they would get the patch out for WoW already.

I was pretty sure, but I'm not so sure now. I know on the Apple website they mentioned that it was a beta.

I tried putting up together a "Universal Binary Games" list in the MacRumors Guides section. It's still very sketchy. Maybe we can all contribute to it ^_^

Warcraft III is the only game I really care about, and Blizzard hasn't decided yet whether or not to release a universal binary, but I'm hoping it's old enough that it will run fine under Rosetta.

It runs OK on mine with medium settings. It runs fine on my 20"s native resolution, but not if you get more than just you and a computer. We need a universal. Universal will be awesome.
