I was wondering if anyone has had any luck connecting the Xbox 360 to a Apple Display? Can someone explain to me how will this work?

Aside from $300+ solutions, duct tape will work.

Assuming that your ACD only has a DVI-D input, there's really NO solution for this. The Xbox 360 does not have any sort of DVI output option, and a box to convert VGA or component video to DVI-D is, as pdpfilms indicated, going to be expensive.
Xbox 360 output options: VGA, component video (RGB + 2 audio), S-video.

Besides, the quality would be pretty poor. That's a PC screen.

Does no one do searches on this forum? I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound angry it's just that this subject seems to surface every month or so in a new thread. Try these:
Play Xbox 360 on HD Cinema Display? YES... yes you can (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=172157&highlight=ps3+acd)
Is it possible to run an Xbox 360 through an Apple 23 inch HD display? (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=164125&highlight=ps3+acd)
Next gen consoles (360-Ps3) to cinema display 23" ? (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=157747&highlight=ps3+acd)
Can the Cinema HD run this somehow? (screenshot) (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=162923&highlight=ps3+acd)

Will this not work?

Sure, you'd need a VGA->DVI adaptor but those are pretty easy to come by...

Actually, a VGA -> DVI adapter is not easy to come by and they are expensive for the one you'd need to provide signal to and ACD. You're looking at around $300US. That cable could work with a Dell display as they have VGA inputs on all but the 30" screen.

Anyone have a link to the $300 converter. And does it do the best job?

~ HaoThe reason that won't work is that the ACD expects a DVI-D (D for Digital) connection. A VGA-DVI adapter is going to produce a DVI-I (I for Integrated, analog or digital) analog signal which can't be used by the DVI-D port on the ACD.

Thank you for the quick response, but I was hoping there was a link to the manufacturers webpage for the device. Or perhaps a reseller on the web?

Found it now buddy, thanks! And there no need for that kind attitude. Just help out and smile. Or don't. Just don't give attitude where attitude isn't due. You should be happy, you justed helped someone out.

You should be happy, you justed helped someone out.My "kind attitude", as you referred to it (or did you mean "kind OF attitude"?), only emerges when people ask a question, it's answered, TWICE, and then they complain that their question STILL wasn't answered.
When someone gives you a link, try clicking on it.

Of, course I tried clicking it first. The "Here" link didn't stand out until you pointed it out. That's why I ask a second time.
And yes you found a typo. I haven't slept yet so I'm a little out of it. Thanks for pointing it out though, I will proof read harder next time.
But let me just say this. I don't know where you get off with this 'I already answered your question commoner, don't bother the high-horsed mathematical scientist again with your idiotic questions'. If answering a simple question with politeness is too much for you, then I suggest that you might help folks at other boards.
Because as far as I've seen on this board, your the only one to really have an attitude about helping people. That is what a message board is for: discussion and inter-user help on issues.
If tact is too much to ask for, I don't know which way is up.
But on a separate note, your collection is pretty tight. From one artist to a collector, for whatever it's worth.

Anyone besides me find it funny that mac.head.high is reading the riot act to clayj, one of the nicest posters around, and completely ignores posts #5 and #10?

A "Cheaper" solution might be the ViewSonic NextVision N6 which retails for $199 but can be found for $180 online.
http://www.viewsonic.com/products/tventertainment/tvvideoprocessors/nextvisionn6/
I was looking in to doing this myself but think I'll skip the ACD and go with the ViewSonic 27" LCD TV for $750: http://www.viewsonic.com/products/desktopdisplays/lcdtv/n2750w/
Funny they both come from ViewSonic and I found them at different times.

To me the best option is just to buy a new monitor :)
Dell 2005fpw is around $300 + buy the 360 VGA cable.
http://slickdeals.net/category/newdeals/?daysago=77#p6763
A newer model of the 2005fpw is due out soon that has HDCP.

Seriously, how many times does someone have to tell you "look here" before you finally get it?
And thanks. :)
