Going into a skip next Friday 24th Feb about 1pm (unless you come and pick them up from Kings Cross, N1 first) are:

2 x Linotype-Hell A4 'Jade' Scanners SCSI-only, noisy and a bit ropy, no software.
1 x Asante 8-port 10/100 Ethernet Switch with power supply
1 x Lacie external beige SCSI 6gb HD
1 x Lacie external beige 4x CD/RW SCSI
1 x PowerMac G3 266mhz min 128mb RAM, 20gb? HD
1 x PowerMac 8600/200, other specs unknown
1 x 21" Taxan CRT monitor 11 years old, goes but soft image.

Also have a box full of SCSI, Appletalk and misc cables to go with the stuff + one old-style keyboard.

Would prefer one or two batches of disposal...

Terms and Conditions

'Buyer' collects in weekday business hours in Kings Cross, London N1 on or before Friday 24th Feb.

Some system software possibly available but no promises... (have yet to go through some boxes)

Will reserve items for people who PM me only, posting in this thread alone is not a commitment to reserve an item.

No guarantees of anything working, despite it all working when last used about 18 months ago. I will also erase all HDs, nothing will be 'loaded'.

It's too bad you didn't do this when we were flying through London - my wife would have killed me for lugging the PM around India for 3 weeks :)

And like skoker says - if you decide to ship b/c nobody lays claim and you would rather dump it, send a PM to the wife (she approves all my money spending) - floriflee :D

Sorry but I'm not shipping anything, anywhere. Nor will I be PMing anyone unless they're genuine enquiries. It's all loaded on a trolley and it will all be going downstairs and out to the bins in one week from today unless someone comes and rescues this mass of beige old-skool equipment from its probable fate.

It's beige. Everything is beige... except for the ethernet switch.

Kind regards

Someone should definitely grab that, dead useful as a headless file/internet server if you stuck a bigger drive in it and used Xpostfacto.

Let me just take the time to point out that I was working on that other PowerMac 8600/200 about 4 years ago, running Pshop 7, QuarkXpress 4 and Illustrator 8 on OS9. It has at least 512mb RAM in it, if not more, and if you drop a new HD into it and into the Lacie external HD case you'd have a useful machine for messing around on.

How far are you away from Kings Cross station?
As I am coming to London on the 24th, however not until 5-6ish in the evening.
Will PM you if this is OK?

Also what diemsnions roughly is the external HD?

10-12min walk up the Caledonian Road from Kings Cross tube, Thameslink a little closer.

If you're coming on the Friday the 24th, I'll hold off trashing anything until the end of the day but am not keen on hanging around the offices on a Friday evening later than 6-6:15pm.

The external HD can be seen in the image on top of the external CD drive. I'm at home at the mo so can't tell you exactly what size it is. At a guess about 6-7cm x 16-20 x 22-24.

Just a reminder, these peripherals are SCSI-only. You could probably also drop an ATA CD drive into the other external enclosure and use that as well.

Good luck, BV! Don't hurt your back carrying around all that stuff, or I'm going to have to fly to the UK and give you a MacRumors backrub. :o

OK. Since Jesus has not yet responded to my PM to his initial PM, I'll make sure that you're second in line, OK? But I'm serious about trashing this stuff on Friday evening... can't be bothered messing around too much.

Too late, I already PM'd about that. You can have the MacBook Pro and 200GB FireWire drive though as I'm feeling generous today (and bored of work).

And what a nice young man he was too. :) ;)

He's just driven off in a cab with both Macs, the monitor and a whole bunch of cables.

There's still a few bits and pieces left, including a new item! A Lacie SCSI Syquest drive that was lurking at the back of a plan-drawer! Don't all rush at once! :p
