Wow you suck.
We have a Winner! SilentPanda, CONGRATS!
Lunatic Fringe
An After Dark module I discovered in 5th grade when I noticed one of the screen savers was a list of High Scores with "hit capslock to play", so I did, and thats how I spent my 5th grade time, playing Lunatic Fringe.
play Lunatic Fringe in Classic mode! (http://www.sealiesoftware.com/fringe/)
since someone guessed this one so quick. Ill start round 3 and a half.

That game is NetTrek, not to be confused with the popular underground multi-platform game Netrek. The Macintosh game, NetTrek had a similar preface but was much less complex. Basically, you piloted a ship and would battle other players over Appletalk. You could be Human, Klingon, or Gorn, if I remember correctly.
I used to bring a group of buddies into the computer lab at school, each of us armed with a floppy disk with the game, and we would have ourselves a battle. Of course, it drove the others crazy seeing us having so much fun while they were writing papers etc. and if we forgot to bring headphones, man those phasers were loud!
