These high-end speakers are actually works of art that happen to sound good.

I have to say, I think these are the ugliest speakers I have ever seen. They look like someone pulled them straight out of 1973! They may sound amazing, but I don't want them uglying (is that a word?) up my house.

All of those Arvus speakers seem, well, kinda fake... Although if they're real (which we'll assume they are), then they must be some kick @$$ speakers... Especially the bladder buster... Well, when I make my first million, and buy my first mansion I know what I'm getting...

I think Christ himself oversees that aspect of it.
i kind of imagine Christchurch is not an actual church? most hardcore christians i know aren't into the involuntary expulsion of all bodily fluids for entertainment purposes...
tho, if they are, they're the Best Damn Chuch Ever.

The Sunfire True Sub in my oppinion is the best in the world.
http://www.sunfire.com/products/subsignature.shtml
For those of you that don't know Sunfire is a company and product that Bob Carver owns and designs at.
There are most definitely better speakers in the wolrd then the ones by Arvus. They are certainly good but when money is no option there is better. I will have to glance at one of my stereo mags tomorrow and give you all something to drool at. There are a few tower speakers for home audio enthusiasts that start around 80,000 a pair.

The world's best speaker is not 8' tall and ugly as sin. Give me a nice 4 1/2" Bose set that I can't even see while I'm watching the HighDef widescreen that I bought instead of those fugly speakers... I mean seriously, that's just stupid. $8k for something that big and ugly... *shudder*

Best speakers in the world are Dynaudio M4a studio monitors, a snip at £25K (ish...)
They'll still sound crap in your living room though...:D

My problem with bose is in how they handle treble. If you listen closely every time they hit a high treble note they release a tsss noise. It sounds like someone letting air out of a high pressure bicycle tire.
I had never heard it before a friend of mine (another audio enthusiast) pointed it out. Now that I hear it though I can't stand to be in the same room with Bose that are playing it just grates on you.

On the Arvus website:
"Arvus Loudspeakers (NZ) Ltd. is a Christchurch based, family owned and operated business. "
Christchurch is a city in the South Island of New Zealand (NZ).
You are thinking of "Church of Christ", which is arguably more of a cult than a church.

Good speaker design requires edges that are not parallel. Without a doubt the best are B&W...http://www.bwspeakers.com. Monitor Audio makes some amazing stuff too, www.monitoraudio.com

My dad went looking for the best (within about $4k) setup for our basement. B&W everything. The best speakers, and they look great too!

These B&Ws are by far the best, and the funkiest looking: Nautilus (http://www.bwspeakers.com./index.cfm?fuseaction=products.models&label=Model%20Nautilus)
The shape itself is mirroring the inner ear. Oh, and they cost 25000 euro per speaker..
Considering that, I'm pretty happy with my Tannoy Revolution R3..
