I have a pair of M-Audio Studio Pro 4 speakers. I would like to try something new for a while, so I have decided to put these up for sale.
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/StudioPro4-main.html
I can send photos as well if you are interested, the tweeters are pushed in a bit, it doesn't effect the sound quality though. Other than that they look just like new, and have been only used at a low level, since i live in an apartment with neighbors :( Power cable included.
**SOLD** Thanks Alex

I'm looking for a good set of speakers, so I'm interested in these. A few questions first, though. How do these sound for everyday use, like listening to music or watching movies? I do some recording, but not enough to justify buying a set of speakers that can only be used for that. is there good bass response? Reviews I've read say that close up sound is good, but the lows really fade if you're not right up in front of them.
Also, do you still have the RCA-to-1/8-inch cable that comes with these? I'm kind of in-between things, so I don't have my whole setup with me, and these would be exclusively used with my iMac for the next few months.
Any pictures, as well? Particularly of the tweeters?
And, finally (sorry for so many questions), would you do a pick-up, in the Chicago area?
Thanks!

i'd love to see a pic of the tweeters too so i can see what you're talking about.
edit: they're pretty heavy, i guess.
how about 75 + shipping?

Those reviews are definatley correct. They do sound really nice from a distance in a smaller room though. I think youll be suprised by the quality of bass, its really natural, not like having a seperate 12" woofer obviously though. It just depends on what kind of bass you like. I have them hooked up to both my computer and my dvd player for tv through a soundboard, and for 2 speakers i have been impressed by the sound quality. It's definatley a much more powerful sound then what multimedia speakers produce. I have a 1/8" to 1/4" cable, but they did not come with a cable. The only cable they came with was the speaker wire to run from speaker to speaker. You may need to zoom in to see the tweeter, but they could just be popped back out, I just didn't want to unscrew the body to do that. I would actually prefer pickup in Chicago if you are in the area. I live in Lincoln Park. Let me know!

Those look great, and I could totally take the el up there to get 'em. Tell you what, I'm gonna think about it tonight, and get back to you tomorrow, ok? If anyone else takes them in the meantime, go for it, but if they don't, I'll let you know what I think tomorrow.
Thanks.

i'd love them, but livingfortoday certainly has the upper hand on me right now :)
if that falls through, i'm definitely still available, but i'm not gonna turn this into a bidding war or anything.
also, just wondering.. in your own opinion, how are these for mixing? that's mostly what i'd be using them for, as i have some fairly good multimedia speakers that destroy every song i try to mix on them.

thats what these are designed for, and the reason I got them. They do work great for multimedia as well though. The reason I have enjoyed them for mixing so much so far is because they have such a natural sound. They are not bass heavy like most multimedia speakers, and allow me to really hear what the mix is going to sound like. I can hear subtle nuances much better through the M-Audios compared to my AKG headphones as well.

yeah, i know they were designed for mixing, it was just a decision between them, some other monitors i found, or some AKG headphones :) i think my decision is made up now, so if you'll go for my offer, i'm real interested (it may take a day or two to get the money in my paypal).

Got the speakers today, great seller, even gave me free coffee with the speakers! Damn long bus ride, though. Sheesh, next time I'll have to reconsider how far north I'll go for something!

Right now I have them directly hooked up to my Powerbook, and they have rather good highs and mids, but absolutely no lows. I mean, really, they pack no punch there. The top end is incredibly clear, though, and they are pretty dang sweet overall, I'd have to say. I'm probably gonna end up hooking them up to a receiver and getting a small subwoofer to round out the sound in the future, but for now they sound ok as-is. Definitely much better sound than the Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers I had before, too.

nice. i'm not too concerned about the bass, cause i'm going to be mixing with them, so i don't really need to feel the punch, i just need to be able to hear it clearly. anyway, i'm glad you like them, and thanks for your report!
