Hello,
I was hoping some of oyu could give me some LAN recommendations that will work on Mac/PC.
So far I have:
AvP2
Halo
UT2K4
Warcraft 3
Starcraft
What other good LAN games are out there? Specifically non-Blizzard RTS games.... are there any?

America's Army and Enemy Territory are both good.

Doom 3, Battlefield 1942, Call of Duty, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Quake 3, Urban Terror (best mod for Q3), Sin, and, of course, all the Marathons are all great multiplayer games.
Some others I haven't tried multiplayer are Postal 2, MTX Mototrax, Tony Hawk 4, and Heroes 4, and Quake 4 once it comes out next month.

Don't forget the original Unreal Tournament.
And a strong second for Quake 3: Urban Terror.

NetTrek is awesome. You'll have to set up some 512s running system 6 to get the true experience though....

So no strategy games except perhaps Heroes 4?
I see a lot of FPS... but I'd prefer _less_ FPS.... Halo, UT2K4, and Wolf ET are *plenty* ;)

Sorry, most LAN games are FPS.

I'm just guessing here, because I don't know about the Mac-to-PC compatibility, but maybe Savage or Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. They are both strategy games.

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, Age of Empires 2, and Rise of Nations will work Mac-to-Mac, but not Mac-to-PC.

What would I give to have some people playing Total Annihiliation again... damn that was a good LAN game.

Rise of Nations is a very fun multiplayer game. It is especially fun with many people online. More people need to buy this game. Rise of Nations is a very fun and addicting strategy game. sorta like a cross between Sim, Age of Empires, and Tropico with a lil chess like strategy involved. it is especially fun now since the online game client has been fixed so there is no need to for any port forwarding or anything.
there used to be a problem for people with routers to connect to games but now that problem has been resolved.
so... go out and buy it.

Doom 3
Are you kidding? Doom 3's MP is so s@cky!
To the OP: Starcraft and UT2004 should be enough :D ;)

Playing WOW Lan wise is a more unique experience.
Co -ordination on high end raids is improved massivly when you can talk to the guy next to you.

You can't play it solely on a LAN though, right? Do you mean playing it on the internet, but with people sitting right next to you?

Oh yes, but get enough computers round and you can easily share a broadband connection.
Arranging tactics is much easier by talking than typing, for example you don't need to worry about hitting the "Heal me" macro or button when the party healer is sitting next to you.

You'd better not have a "Heal me!" macro, hehe. Most healers ignore those and let the person die. :-P

Im a Hunter, Mail armour, Major healin potions and Feign Death get me out of most scrapes.
Also, the potion of run speed and aspect of cheetah is damn useful combined to put a lot of distance between yourself and danger in a short sapce of time.
