Do you know whether or not I could buy that 60GB HD and the backing and put it on my 3G iPod? If not, do all of those parts make a complete iPod (besides dock connector)? Thanks.

I am not positive, but it should work because you can put other 4th gen drives into a 3rd gen iPod and they usually work. Since I'm not positive and you do happen to win the auction I cant gurantee it working in your 3rd gen.

And yes, the parts do make up a full iPod besides the connector.

It depends what size HDD your ipod originally came with. If it's a 10, 15 or 20 GB model the 60 won't fit. If it it was a 30 or 40 GB model it might. I would try searching the forums at ilounge for a definitive answer.
