Did you try logging out and logging back in or restarting?

Yup. I tried all of those things, including repairing permissions. I am at a total loss here.

Did you install a new menu item or program recently?

Nope, I try to stay away from those programs that mess with the OS or the finder. I'm afraid of the haxies. Good question, though. :)

Have you tried deleting preference files or .plist files. Could be a font preference or something like that is screwed up.

If none of the recommendations work. Try re-installing the OS.....if that still doesn't work.... It's caused by the devil! No, no, no....call Apple

I have had the same thing happen - but after a restart it went away. Ever since the 10.2.3 update I have not seen it again. ???? :confused: ????

Well...after 6, yes SIX, restarts, everything is back to normal. I would really like to know what causes that kind of thing.
