Powerbook audio question

I am thinking of buying the 15 inch Powerbook G4 for use in video editing. I see it has an audio in input. Can this be used to hook up audio from a VCR?

With the right cable. If the VCR has RCA jacks, then just go to Radio Shack and spend like $3.00, and get a cable that converts from a RCA to a 1/8" (I think) mini-jack headphone port.
