Continuing the previous discussion (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=188911) on the topic, I found an interesting article (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/698/698845p1.html) over on IGN this morning entitled "Advertisers at the Door"
It's a very long read but quite interesting. The guy developing/promoting the ad technology really does seem to have a different approach and view of the subject, even going so far as to recommend boycotting retail games that include ads in them.
The approach definitely seems interesting and far less intrusive/annoying then the current methods.
