Hello I have very good powerbook 1.33 Ghz powerbook that I just bought on this forum that needs a new harddrive and F12 key other than that it is in very good condition. I was going to install the harddrive but bad one screw stopped the whole process:(.
Make me offers on this. I would trade for a working Ibook G4. Also for 100 dollars extra I will include the new hardrive (80 GB 5200 Rpm western digtal) I bought to fix it.
EDIT this is a 12" model

Would you ever consider trading it for a PC laptop?

What do you mean about the screw? Is that to say you couldn't install the drive personally, or that there's something wrong with the computer that prevents the drive from being replaced?

I'm interested, but I would need to see some pictures of what we're dealing with here (plus the screw that's causing the problem).

The screw head is very stripped thus I can't take it out. Mabye someone else could or pay to have it fixed (which I may still do). I will post pics later.

I had this same problem once. You can use a dremel to drill through the screw and remove it like that. At least, that's what worked for me. Gotta be reeeeally careful, though.

But, then would you put the screw back??

No, that destroys the screw. I have a Ti book, so I have half a dozen screws down there, so it never seemed a big deal. i don't know if the Al books really need all the screws, or if they can get by minus one.
Edit: I should mention that I've done this on my Ti and an older G3 iBook, and both were ok. It just took a lot of care, and I would really recommend having someone else do it if you're not comfortable.

I would do that but this screw is important and needs to be there as it one of the 2 that hold the keyboard

Would you be able to post some pictures of the PowerBook and the defective screw? I think that would make potential buyers (like myself) less wary.
What are the detailed specs of the machine? And are you shipping it in the original box? Thanks!

I haven't heard from you, and then saw this post.. Take the computer to apple and let them get it out.. I mean, you only paid $550 for it.. So it'd be worth getting it fixed.. What screw was messed up? b/c i haven't opened it before?
