Apple Cider --- My old Pismo Powerbook G3 400 (I sold it awhile ago)
Apple Crisp --- My father's Quicksilver 867
Apple Butter --- My G4 350 tower (arn used to own it... I wonder what he called it :-p)

... and my main dear is lovingly called Freya (PowerBook 800 DVI)

I've named all of the macs in my house even if they aren't mine :) Our old graphite airport base station is called Apple Orchard

I used to stick to a naming scheme (Apple XX) but with the purchase of Freya I sorta left it behind.

Well...it depends on what I happened to like at that moment...right now I'm obsessed with the Matrix (can't wait until May) and Apple, so all of the servers and computers are named after characters from the Matrix. The laptops and everything else start with the letter 'i'.

Are you asking computer network name or hard drive name?

My 8500 is called Brian's Computer and the Rendezvous name is Brian-8500. The hard drives are called Pop, BigTruck and Crate.

The iBook is called iBook 466, Rendezvous is iBook-466 and the hard drive is called Hard Drive.

My duel HP is called HPDUEL for the network name and the hard drive is affectionately called C:.

j/k :)

The name of my motherboard architecture for the 9600 'Mach V' series was Kansas. So I named it K4N545.

My last work machine was a B&W G3/450, I named it Y053M173.

My current machine is a G4/450, I named it S4W7007H.

Bear in mind I do name my machines so I can speak to them familiarly, but rather for a unique name on the network. My HDD names are all generic.

It's sometimes easier to make the name of the machine (on the lan) and the boot partition the same. I'm not a believer in multiple partitions. I used to name my computers after chemical elements (e.g. chromium, silver, iron, etc.) but it got too confusing, so now I just name them after their numbers in my system cardfile:
G4 cube = number26
sun ultra 5 = number5
powerbook g4 = number4
various other macs = number28, number20
various pc's = number106, number19
I guess it's kind of like a football team :-)

Actually, "ohana" means family. I lived in Hawaii for 7 years and it's a very commonly used expression.

"momi" is commonly used in place of pearl.
