Having been a mac user since 2002, i've also been "checked out" of the pc gaming world since 2002. Now that I can run windows on my macbook, maybe forum members could list their picks for best pc games of the last five years. I need to make a shopping list:)

I've only recently become a Mac user, prior to that I was really into PC gaming. Half-Life 2, Max Payne 1 & 2, Battlefield 2 are some PC only games that I enjoyed immensely. My personal favorite game ever is World of Warcraft if you want to chance having your life sucked away from this game lol.

One game tops them all: Elder Scrolls: Oblivion http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/theelderscrollsivoblivion/index.html
Rated a 9.3 on gamespot, 9.6 from user reviews, and 9.3 averaged out of the other game review sites.

In no specific order and reasons;
Far Cry (big, open, beautiful game)
HL2 (It's HL2)
Max Payne (Loved every minute of it)
Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 (Played 1 all my life and got 2 last year. Works better in 2D, IMO)
'sall I can think of!

With two exceptions, all my favorite games have also been released for OS X. Those two would be Tiger Woods 2006 (which really is a nice improvement over 2005 on Mac) and Half-Life 2

What about Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Beyond Good & Evil, Splinter Cell (all of them), and Psychonauts? Lego Star Wars is also good. Call of Duty (1 & 2), Far Cry, Half-Life 2, Sim City 4, Civilization 4, Warcraft 3... to name a few.

Baldurs Gate 2 + Throne of Bhall

Final Fastasy 7 (Probably the best RPG game ever)
Everquest (Dated now of course, but amazing in its day)
GTA 3 / GTA Vice City

Max Payne 1 is available for OS X.
macbook? x86? -----> Rosetta.
Nevertheless I'm pretty sure it works perfectly well under rosetta, like warcraft III for example, I think you would prefer to get either PC games or UB OSX games. UT2004 runs great on the macbook, even though the PC version may be more reliable, the OSX version quits randomely. Not cool when in LAN.
Best PC game: Agreed GTA3 (i'd get a PS2 gamepad though, prefer it to the mouse, and it's not really the kind of game where you need to stay 2 inches in front of the screen...)
Otherwise, I will try installing Toca Race Driver 3 or GTR/GTLegends (i dunno if you play these in the US), with I hope my PS2 USB wheel that should work.
And yes, "shopping list" :p
