This is now less a "Feeler" thread than a "For Sale" thread :)

I'm selling both my Windows Box and PowerBook and picking up a MacBook Pro to replace them both.

I have no idea if anyone around here would want to buy a PC (and would guess nobody would) but I figured as long as I was throwing together a FS thread for my PowerBook, I might as well see what I could get for the PC.

The PowerBook is less than four months old - I purchased it in January (right after the MacBook was announced) because my iBook died and I was in need of a laptop immediately. I figured I'd upgrade to the MacBook Pro after a year or so -- But now that the MacBook can run Windows, I'll be upgrading sooner :D

Specs on the PowerBook are as follows: 1.5Ghz G4 Processor, 512MB or RAM, Combo drive, 80GB HDD. It's been extremely well taken care of.

I'm hoping to get about $1300-$1400 for it if I end up selling it, but I'm open to offers.

As to the PC... It's somewhere between a year and a year and a half old. It's a home built system used mostly for gaming. Specs are 2.8Ghz Celeron, 512MB RAM, Radeon 9600 and 80GB Hard Drive. If anyone wants to buy it, I'll do a clean reinstall of Windows XP Pro (which the system is licensed for, COA sticker is attached) and install the Google Toolbar (Pop-Up Blocker) and eTrust Antivirus (licensed for 12 months up definition updates) on the system. I'm hoping to get $400 for this system, but again, I'm open to offers. On the off chance that anyone's interested, the PC is up for grabs right now. Make an offer, and I'm ready to sell. :)

I'll try to post photos of both systems later this evening.

Well, I've looked around eBay a bit, and I think I can get ~$1300-$1400 there for it. So, I think I'd let it go for $1300 shipped. If you're interested, let me know and we can move from there :)

Sorry about the lack of detail earlier! To answer your questions....

1) It has six USB 2.0 Ports, 4 on the back, 2 on the front. The PC has gigabit ethernet. If you need to use older devices, there's also a parallel and serial port.
2) The video card has VGA, DVI, and TV-Out.
3) 450W Power Supply.
4) A standard keyboard and mouse are included. (PS/2 connectors)
5) CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive.
6) Windows XP Pro disc is included.
7) DDR400/PC3200 -- I'm not sure of the max stick size, but there's three open slots.
8) Sound is a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 PCI Card.
9) There are five PCI slots, four of which are open.
10) The system has a total of three fans -- One on the CPU, one (I believe 80mm) on the back of the case) and one in the power supply. There's room for at least two more in the front of the case, but I've never had a need for them -- the system has run plenty cool with the current setup.

I'll post photos in a few minutes (I promise this time :p ) of both the PC and the PowerBook (which is now officially for sale.)

The PC is going to fetch you more if you take it apart and sell the pieces on eBay. $400 (your asking price) can get a deal seeker a new dell with a dual core cpu off a website like slickdeals.net.

The graphics card if advertised right on a site like craigslist may even fetch you $50 - $80.

Yes, but for $400, they're getting a DELL. You get what you pay for. ;) :D

In all seriousness, though, I will resort to breaking it down and selling parts if I can't get a good offer for it. Good advice, thanks! :)

I'm pretty sure it's just a standard Celeron. I should probably know this, but how can I check the amount of L2 cache?
