Hey hey there, kids. I'm considering selling my 160GB network drive, as I really don't use it anymore. It was meant to be an easy way to share my music and videos among four computers, but there's only two here now, so it's not really necessary.

This has been lightly used. It's a Simpletech Simpleshare 160GB NAS Drive. Here's a link to it on their site:
http://www.simpletech.com/commercial/simpleshare/index.php

And the specs:
Store and share files over a network
Easy setup with AutoDiscovery (no network experience required)
Backup and protect PC or Mac files with Retrospect Express
Expand storage capacity with additional USB drives
Share printers over a network with built-in USB print server
Fast Ethernet 10/100 LAN connection
NASFinder software provides automatic drive mapping and simple configuration
Compact, space-saving design

I'll put up photos in a bit, but mine looks just like that one, no damage or anything. I'd be interested in trading for a larger IDE hard drive (not in a case, just a bare drive) and some cash, or just some moneys. Let me know what you got and what you'll offer!

Thanks!

I feel I should also mention that the main reason I chose this NAS drive over others was the fact that it lets you hook up and share two USB devices over your network. I had hooked up an external USB drive and my printer and could share them all over my network. Very cool.

I've been looking arround to purchase an external harddrive. Is yours more expensive because you can network, or do they all do that?

Network drives are ususally more expensive than regular external hard drives. Witha regular ext. drive, you can ust hook it up to one PC through USB or Firewire, but with a network one you actually hook it up through an ethernet cable to a router, so that many computers can access it.

Well, this is still going for around $200 new, so I'm looking for around... I dunno, $175 shipped?

I don't know, if you're interested, feel free to PM me or make an offer here.

Hey everybody, I've substantially lowred the price on this from $150 down to $99! It's on eBay right now, here:

That's a dang good price, as it's like-new, and new ones are going for nearly $200. So.

I will also consider ending the auction early if anyone can offer me a 320GB+ IDE hard drive in exchange. That would be just super.
