Hi guys,

I'm selling a dead 12-inch PowerBook G4 1GHz. It has 768MB DDR RAM, 40GB HDD, APE, BT, Combo Drive, but some things you might want to note are:

A year or so ago it got dropped... Well, we were wondering around college late one night trying to get a better signal and we ran from a care taker and, well, crash... So now it lost its sex factor. The metal at the left back is bent so that the power cord slips out quite easily and takes some tweaking to keep in sometimes, the metal on the right above the slot loading drive is bent, but disks fit in fine, the metal on the front above the latch is scratched, but this doesn't hinder usability either. The thing I hate most is that the screen is coming out of its metal back on the left side a little bit. I have photos which I can email those interested.

So about a year after that incident it was fine, but then it died. I switch it on and I just get a grey screen. I tried putting in an Apple 10.2 CD that came with it (it's running 10.4 ATM though) and nothing happened, and I didn't bother to do a lot else (just tried resetting PRAM and showing bootable devices) because MBP was out so I got that.

If interested feel free to bid, I don't expect to get much (if anything) for it but if it doesn't sell in the next couple of days I'll throw it (I need my drawer space back).

Thanks

I didn't expect there to be any interest in something like this or I'd have gotten round to it a bit earlier than I did. Ok $150 any more takes? I'll leave it up for the weekend. I don't know how much the shipping would be to the US but at this rate I'll probably be prepared to cover some of it. Payment will be via Western Union guys since I need to get this thing shipped out by Tuesday and that's the only thing that I can think of (I don't want to have to sign up for any online services) that would allow me to confirm payment so quickly. Sunday evening (UK time) I'll confirm the winner, thanks.

EDIT: Fixed URLs since the webserver has directory viewing disabled.

Ok so top bid is $100 unless anyone else can't pay with WU too? Sorry to those who can't, but I don't have PayPal and I am leaving here for about 4 weeks on Tuesday so I need to get the money and ship it before then.

Your pictures are kind of hard to see with the flash...

Try turning off the flash and using natural lighting (Room light)

I'll give you £50/£60 for it, can pay by cheque or direct bank transfer. Also have eBay account if you want to check feedback score.

You would probably get a lot more offers if you would set up a Paypal account because Western Union is historically what eBay scammers use because the buyer has no way to get back their money if the item shows up.

What sly scammer would sell a broken PowerBook for very cheap? They would try to sell a newish thing that costs thousands of dollars...not $100...lol. Some people just don't like PayPal.
