Howdy All, I was wondering if there is a way to password lock a folder containing documents is OS X. When ever some one tries to access it i want it to ask for a password, that way the files cannot be accessed. Thanks in advanced, this site has become a invauble resource for every possible question i could ever have.

Are you the only one with the admin password?

If you are you can either lock out everyone but you or you can change the owner and group to nobody and change the access for both to no access. Be sure to change others to no access also.

If that isn't what you want here is a link to a list of apps that should do what you want.

You can also use disk copy to encrypt folders.

Applications-->Utilities--> Disk Copy

Then drag the folder you want to password protect onto disk copy and select encryption!!
That’s it!!

You live in Las Vegas at the airport. How can you sleep in between the run ways? I was just there recently, very cool place to visit.

I live far from the Airport…my long and lat is off a little bit!!
