Well, I bought it two weeks ago, W612 model or W812, or whatever Rev. D is..., no whines, no problems, not even a dead or stuck pixel. Now with the 17" on the way...well you get the drift. What am I parting with?

15" MacBook Pro
2.16Ghz Core Duo
2GB RAM
100GB 7200RPM HD.
Original box and discs, yada yada yada.

Looking for $2600 shipped obo. (retails $3200+tax, and you know this one has no problems or dead pixels...)

I hear you.... but $2800 for more features .vs $2600 for yours... tempting, but drop it to $2300 and you got a buyer!

Not everybody wants a 17" "lap"top. Plus, it's not REALLY $2800...depending on where you live it could be $2956.53 at 5.6% tax. Plus, for $100 more than the highest stock 15"MBP you get all the fixins, no tax, no dead pixels, and what seems to be the most important...no whine.

I wish you could get that "no whine" on the forum site where they are discussing what they don't like about the 17"... Hmmm.. I am in the market do to something. So, you are going up to the 17" from what I have read elsewhrere. Ever sell the Quad?

Yep, up to the 17". Sold the Quad+23" for $5k to a graphic designer in CT. Since the MBP will be my only machine and I have a boatload of FW800 drives, and a spindle of blank DL DVDs, this is the perfect holdover until Intel Pro Towers.
