In 1997/1998 before Apple got back on its feet there was huge excitement in x86 land over the impending release of Rhapsody for x86. I remember convincing someone who was thinking about buying a Power Computing Mac in 1997 to buy a PC instead - "Don't worry! You'll be able to run Rhapsody on it!" Now I feel a little dumb.

There are dev releases of rhap x86 floating around (carracho, etc). Apple just never released it. It doesn't matter, anyway, Apple is going with the pp970 not x86...

This is really no big deal. Its actually still possible to run OS8 on x86 via emulators.
