Tips To Use Broadband Effectively

by Omega broadspamprovider (http://www.broadspamprovider.co.uk)

The saying ‘well begun is half done’ is true for most of our daily endeavors and it gains more prominence when we deal with technology. Broadband internet access is reaching out to homes at a very fast pace, it is expected that by 2007 more than 50% of UK homes would be logging on to the World Wide Web through broadband internet connection.

But the big question is how to use broadband effectively so that you can enjoy using it?
Let me take you through some of the key points which would surely help in making your broadband experience glitch free.

Let’s start with the type of broadband connection; if you are a home user then most probably your type of connection would be ADSL, because it is designed to provide higher download speeds as compared to the upload speeds. But the important point here is that the ADSL connection is distance sensitive that means the distance of ADSL exchange of the broadband service provider from your home is of vital importance and generally the maximum distance permissible without any decrement in speed is 5.5 kilometers, so make sure you subscribe from a broadband service provider near to your home. Furthermore…

To truly take advantage of the multi functionality of broadband, ensure that you have a minimum RAM of 256 MB and ideally 512 MB because you would be dealing with high speed data transfer and for that to be easy flowing, RAM is important. Now coming to the operating system it is advisable to use newer versions, for e.g. if you are using windows then it would be better if you at least have windows 2000 installed, any later version would only add to the output. The latest version windows media center has been designed specifically to cater to the needs of the broadband users as it would offer all the multimedia functions which have become possible due to the advent of broadband.

These are few basic things one should address to have a really pleasurable broadband experience. So start right get in touch with a reliable broadband service provider of your area and get ready to enjoy the information technology revolution!!

LOL, couldn't agree more.

Urrr, i was kinda expecting stuff like 24/7 online P2P or allowing a home network to continuously saturate the connection. You're on a mac forum, and the only OS you take about is win2k? nice.

Yeah, maybe it is SPAM, but what's it trying to sell; RAM, broadband or Windows 2000?

Obvious spam.

However, at our home, in Boulder County, CO, we are too far away from the DSL node (almost 5 miles). And our house does not have Cable access (one of 5 houses in our neighborhood where they haven't run cable lines.)

So the question is does anybody use Satellite broadband?
If so, how do you like it?
Is it worth the cost? (Note: there are lots of places with free wi-fi nearby so I can get broadband with my laptop if necessary)
Any negatives?
How good is the speed?

Thanks

is it nearby enough to place a client AP to link to it - then run CAT5 from that site to your house?!

Obvious spam.

However, ...

Wouldn't it be better to let this "spam" thread die out and start a new one for your question?

Sure its spam. Sure its doesn't off any new or startling information but to what end? Its kind of befuddling. Is this some sort of social experiment to see how people respond to random, uninformative information? Just weird. Yet, I was compelled to respond. Opps there goes the time, time to eat a pellet.

LoL! Well, the location of your broadband service provider doesn't really matter at all - it's where your telephone exchange is that matters with ADSL. If your telephone exchange is too far away then it doesn't matter what broadband service provider is used - it'll still be crap - like your site.
