hey, just wondering if someone could help by saying whether this type of set up will be able to handle the above games along that genre etc, and particularly whether the graphics card will be able to handle them.

2.3ghz dual-core
2gb ram
GeForce 6600
256mb vram
250gb hdd

thanx.

I assume you mean running Windows, since the games you list aren't available for Mac yet (and CS is unlikely to EVER be).

If so, yep, no problemo.

Course they won't. You need a better video card. Might run on lowest settings.

X1900 will certainly be enough graphics power.

first things first, it sounds like in your first post that you're referring to a G5 computer and not an intel-based one.

an intel-based Mac running BootCamp and a copy of WinXP can certainly handle all the games you mentioned. Of course at that point, it's a PC.

Source engine games (like CS:S and HL2) will never appear on OS X except possibly as an x86-only option (the new intel macs).

No G5s, which I think is what you're talking about with the dual 2.3ghz processor.

not ever.

Referring to the GeForce 7950 GX2 (http://www.hardmac.com/news/2006-04-28/#5429)? :D
