EDIT: SOLD

I just got these from a company blowout sale. Its a pretty neat concept, really. Amazing that these were around before Microsoft decided "hey, we've got a great idea -- THE TABLET".

Anway, the specs are the following:

Pentium 233MHz
32MB RAM
3GB HD
Monochrome Screen
Windows 95 with Pen Utilities
The power adapter is included. In the orginal sale it wasn't included since I still needed it for the last machine. Well, here is the last machine that I don't need -- someone take it!

I would like $45, shipped for this machine.

No CD-ROM drive or USB ports.

Linux... I am not a Linux but as that old nerd saying goes, "where there's a will, there's Linux."

UberMac: Yup, those photos are here :D

The company I work for owns a bunch of these... they're rugged and tough as hell.

As a matter of fact, I cracked the screen on one of these this week (http://www.xploretech.com/index.pl?id=2085)... the hammerhead holds up much better.

These things hold up very well, I'd recommend them.

Stupid question, can they get out on the internet? is it only a dialup connection type thing

If you use a PCMCIA card it will be able to use a wirless card or an ethernet card.

How would you install the driver though? Does it have a floppy drive?

No, those would have to be found on Ebay.

When booting, it asks you to select from "wireless LAN" or "ethernet LAN" so there must be some sort of driver installed. I have no cards to test it with. Imagine that one.

Also, if you were really adventerous and had a lot of time, you could probably take out the hard drive, put it in a different computer, and install drivers from there.

well Im sure you can find an external CD-ROM or floppy drive for it, does it have serial? if so you could just use that

The only external port available is a SCSI-esque universal docking station connector. I tried connecting it to a docking station from a modern Dell laptop at work... it worked... didn't stay in there, but then Windows 95 tried finding the drivers (which of course weren't there).

The PC Card slots are also available.

Well, this will be going on Ebay tonight if no one wants these

My hatred of Ebay is still there, but ya gotta do what you gotta do :(

could you come down on the price of a cheap one? it might be fun to play with.

Sure, $17 and its yours... pretty much covers the cost of shipping right there :D

EDIT: THIS WAS IN REGARD TO A NON-TESTED MACHINE. THIS IS NOT A PRICE I AM OFFERING ONE FOR SALE. THIS ONE SOLD FOR $34 ON EBAY

Is there any chance that the LCD could be reused with a Mac?

im_to_hyper
Aug 15, 2006, 04:34 PM
Battery: Yes, if you charge it for an hour you get about ~30 minutes of charge. I haven't charged it for more than an hour, so who knows what life you could get.

mxlews: what do you mean resuse the LCD with a Mac? I am pretty sure that you would not be able to use it with a Mac.
