Dude, you're getting a prison cell. Actor Benjamin Curtis (Dell Dude) was busted last night (2/9) in NYC for pot possession. No wonder he is so goofy in those commercials.

Isn't this a little harsh? I mean, back in the day my high school buddies were caught with pot so many times it wasn't funny. All the cops made them do was throw it away. I can't imagine that this guy had a pound of it or anything.

Then again, it says the cops caught him holding it so if he was just carrying it out in the open that's pretty stupid.

Well, it will be interesting to find out the exact circumstances in which the 'bust' happened. A small bag isn't that big of a deal and he really should have been more careful if he was carrying it around.

And how did the officers know to check him?

Even though I hate anti-marijuana laws, I think that this dude should still be arrested and charged with disturbing the peace or something, I think I have permanent mental damage from those commercials! ;)

Plain and simple the Pot Laws arent doing anything but using up resources that should be pointed at true crimes. They need to be revamped or removed if you ask me and let the cops work on Murder,Rape,Burglary,Terrorist,MissingPersons. Treat it like cigs and beer and tax the piss off it!

Pot laws are one of the more stupid things in the world. Pot is no worse for you than cigarettes, much better for you than alcohal, and it doesn't turn you into a raging psychopath. the only argument against pot is crimes commited to get it, and removing the laws would bring down price and solve that problem. As far as people stealing to buy pot, you might as well make plasma Tvs and Macs illegal, people steal for those too.

Ha, the post stamps are 3 hours apart too.

Anyone who gets caught with drugs is on too much. If you can't hear police coming breaking down your door or while your getting into a car you are too far off.

Ah sad.

I'd be curious...are there any real supporter of our countries war on drugs on this forum?

I find them completely ridiculous, and can't understand who supports these things. So, if there is anyone willing to debate why we are better off now that "Steven" is behind bars, I'd love to hear your reasoning.

I, for one, hope they bust every doper baby out there, put them in torture prisons and make their parents pay the costs.

Stupid people deserve what they get.

Besides, even if they are never arrested, the druggies end up working lower-paying jobs, or killing themselves in the "entertainment" industry (dude, you're a porn star!).

If they legalized drugs tomorrow, I'd smile, get a concealed weapon license, then watch the stupid people crash and burn. If the druggies tried to rob me, I'd just shoot them in the head.

Can't tell I hate drugs, can you?

pot makes people become the devil. didn't you hippie legalization freaks know that? it actually makes you turn into satan. it's the most evil thing in the world... because ... well, it does bad things. i hear. i've never smoked myself or even seen anyone high, but i know it's evil because it's TRUE. i don't need to learn for myself, i just need to take what's fed to me.

i'm gonna go get stoned and laugh at the dell guy.

An excerpt from the article: (Dell spokeman) said it was "premature" to comment on Curtis' arrest or the future of Dell's relationship with the actor, but said the Steven campaign was "absolutely a success that resonated with the younger folks."

I was thinking to myself, "Dude, you are so high."

that guy would have to be high to push dell's in those damn commercials, I'm sure he made some money but I bet he will have a hard time finding any "serious" acting work....
Oh and should he have been arrested? of course he should because it's against the law.....doesn't matter how strongly you feel about it, it's still illegal and if you get caught then.......

just did the commercials to make some party $$$.

nothing wrong with that.;)

the drug war is a joke.
federal gestapo tactics (http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=15105)
the url points to a story about ed rosenthal, a medical marijuana grower in ca who was growing pot under its medical marijuana law and was busted by the feds. when the jury came out and heard the entire story (not what was spoon fed to them in court - the article explains), half of them started calling for a new trial. it's a pretty sad state of affairs when the federal gov't wages war on its own people. especially when they have voted to legalize these activities.

but the dell guy *was* dumb enough to get caught. the feds must have seen him in the commercials and immediately put a tail on him. i mean really, no one was surprised, right?

I don't smoke, but pot laws are absurd and the police are sometimes over zealous. One time 5 cops busted in the door of my house in California, and drew guns on me. No warrant and they initially wouldn't give me a reason either. Then they finally said they were looking for someone who had broken into a house down the street. I said, "You just broke into MY house. Now get out!" and they left. This was in 1991. I didn't make a formal complaint because I didn't want to be "registered". Now, we have an even stronger police state developing rapidly...

btw, everyone here is aware that this guy is an actor, right?

the odds of him acting like the dell dude...or even owning a dell computer are pretty remote...

just thought i'd point out the obvious since everyone's so harsh on this guy.

i've seen him in interviews and he was much more articulate, he's an aspiring actor in a role. definitely nothing like the dell dude...

you don't have to be a PC-promoting braindead surfer to smoke pot :)
