That was 1997. This is now.

And besides, Bill Gates wasn't purposely delaying his new operating system so he has time to copy all of the features from Apple's OS back then... or was he?

The only one I've ever heard about is Microsoft Winblows (http://www.macgamer.com/features/?id=629). Long out of print, but you might be able to find a used copy somewhere.

You mean the 'now' where the transition to be mac is being helped by windows now being bootbale on new intel machines and the only one really gaining market share is microsoft!

Nope. It's a net benefit. Apple sells more machines because people REQUIRED to use Windows for, say, work, or certain programs, can now put Windows on it. Microsoft gains market share because Windows is on it, but Apple's market share also increases because they dual boot OS X, AND because they buy Apple machines.

It's just a bit of fun those type of games. Heck, I have Windows XP Pro on my iMac Intel.

Besides, here in NZ, I was hassled and poked fun at relentlessly all through my High School years for owning a macintosh. Seriously, at my last High School which was St. Kentigern College in Auckland, it was like me vs. 1200 PC users. Fortunately at University people tend to have half a brain, and I am alright.

Funny, I thought being a "True Mac User" was about enjoying and using Macs. I'm not sure where Microsoft factors in the equation at all. I guess if you tie your selfworth into a brand, it might, but I figure most right-thinking adults would be beyond that.

I'm not the biggest fan of Microsoft, however the over-use of terms such as "Micro$oft," "PeeCee," etc. is just lame and immature. Also, although most of MS's software isn't very good (imho), their shining achievement is MS Excel, which imho has yet to be surpassed by anyone.

Btw, Excel was first made for the Mac.

Kinda-sorta. The first version of what we now know as Excel was called Microsoft Multiplan. I'm not sure if Multiplan appeared on the Mac before the PC, but I don't think so. I do know that Microsoft released versions of Multiplan for other platforms before it appeared on the Mac (the Commodore 64, for one).

I bought a shareware version of monopoly for OS9 called 'Cyberopoly'. It was full of tongue-in-cheek techie humor, most of which was squarely aimed at Sir Gates and Microsoft.
It was actually tastefully done, despite what it may sound like.
I have no idea whatever happened to that game, post-OSX migration. Might have to look it up when I get home.

I would kind of agree with you but Excel grew out of the Macintosh version of Multiplan(The only GUI version).

People wonder why so many Windows users hate the Mac. In large part, it's because of people like you. If you act like a door-to-door evangelist and try to convince people that (1) your way is better and (2) they're going to hell if they don't switch, then (1) you will get sprayed with water (as my Mom did once to a guy who came to try to "save" us and wouldn't leave even when asked) and (2) people will hate you and that for which you stand.

Enough with the anti-Microsoft statements already.

Right, sure. The first GUI spreadsheet was Multiplan for the Mac, not Excel. Presumably Excel for Windows and Mac was the next-generation of Multiplan, not an entirely new product, but I suppose only Microsoft knows that for sure.

oh snap.

Gates may have played Jobs back in the OS wars but now Apple is a harware company that makes an OS (an awesome OS but they sell a package is my point) and MS is software (as far as computers are concerned). There is room for both and having MS around keeps Apple honest. and they look that much better in comparison.

Just because we're mature adults doesn't mean we can't hate something. There's nothing wrong with despising a company which truly personifys the worst aspects of this world...So as long as you adopt a mature attitude about it. If you keep an open mind and look at all sides of the matter, respect other people's views and don't try to blindly force your own views on other people, you're entitled to your opinion.

Personally, I hate Microsoft, Bill Gates, Windows and much of the company's software. I do, however, like Excel, Age of Empires and tolerate Access. But I'll go Jolly Roger if I want MS software. You know, I dealt with a lot of Anti-Apple cr*p and teasing in high school and the first year of college...frequently hearing "Macs are horrible," "Apple's going out of business," "why would you use that s***?" and the like. But I always presented a backup to my argument...explaining why Mac's are better (design of the computer, the mac os, etc.). I never stooped to their immature level. And look where Apple is today.

Okay, back on the topic of Anti-M$ games....Back in the 90's I remember quite a few. Like the Doom patch that substituted Gates and Windows logos for the creatures or the "MS Invaders" game...where Gates Heads, MS logos, etc. would fall from the sky and you had to shoot them or the Bill Gates punching dummy the you could punch until it was bruised and his glasses fell off. Fun games to help you get you frustration about Gates & Co. out. You know, once I get home, I'll try and see if there are any such games still out there (all of the old ones are Classic games, though).

Smells like a flame war! OoOoO let me join in!

Bill Gates looks silly with his glasses!

Seriously people this is really really dumb. In case you haven't realized it, this is the whole reason people don't like this argument on either side. If you're an adult act like one and don't post! Don't fan the flames. If I was a moderator I would definitely close this thread, cuz honestly, it looks like we're not getting an answer to the original question, anyway. In the future people, let's try and stick to the topic instead of going CRAZY!

Thank you and good night.

You're wrong. Apple is a software company that happens to make hardware in addition. Apple hardware running Windows is not a Mac. PC hardware running OS X is a Mac. There is absolutely no room for M$ - anywhere!

And I'm gonna keep arguing against M$ as long as there are Mac Users who don't understand why Microsoft is bad.

you sound like such an idiot with all this anti microsoft nerd rhetoric. im not the biggest fan of microsoft but there are better things to do than continure complaining how apple's OS was stolen. sure it happened, but there is nothing you can do about it.

ppl should stop grouping PCs and Microsoft together b/c i think that if apple software ran on a PC then we would start liking them a whole lot better

If you think the only reason M$ is bad is because they copy from Apple, then you need to read up on the history of the Microsoft trial during the late 90s.

Apple gains almost all of their profit from hardware. That makes them a hardware company - at least more so than a software company. A Macintosh running any OS is a Macintosh - that's the name of the hardware device. A PC running OS X is not a Macintosh. It is a PC running a hacked and likely pirated copy of OS X.

No, a MacBook Pro (for example), running Windows XP purely, is still an "Apple", but is not a "Mac". Yes, there is a difference.

Hacking and pirating do not degrade the Mac OS in any way, shape, or form.

In the mid 90s, there were several companies creating computers with some hardware that was very un-Apple like, yet they were called Macs. The type of hardware is insignificant, it is the ones and zeros that make a Mac what it is. This has been proven by Steve Jobs' transition from Motorola to Intel chips.

Perhaps it was a post that was deleted. Or the flame war stuff. You can't really do that here. I do enjoy reading flame wars. Cnet has them all the time with their news stories with Mac and PC users. It is out of control.

Back on Topic.... This game development kit can be used to create your Anti-Microsoft game.

Yeah, back on topic....I couldn't find any Mac OSX Anti-MS games. There are a few Classic ones still floating around but pretty much all of the links are dead. Can't help, sorry. I have one or two games on floppies...but no drive to read a floppy. I can always plug in my old IIsi...but then again, I have no easy way to get the data into my Core Duo iMac or Pismo Powerbook.

The Anti-MS fervor reached its peak when MS was originally on trial. Once Apple started becoming healthy and vibrant again, much of the Anti-MS sentiment began to die down. When people feel threatened (either themselves or the things that they love...i.e. Apple), they are more likely to take up a rebellious stance....Anti-Brand X, Anti-Company B, Anti-Person A, etc.... This is analogous to the anti-bush/anti-war protests or the recent immigration rallies. I don't support those groups but they have as much right to protest as the anti-MS groups do. The original poster was asking for help to find some Mac games. It was simply that.

Anyway...... Mac is the brain and Apple is the heart. Without both, you can't get the full experience.
