I've recently purchased a 2GB nano which I love to bits, and as cash has become unexpectedly tight in recent weeks, I've decided that two iPods is a luxury I can't afford, so I'm going to sell my 4th Generation 40GB iPod.
I bought it the day they were announced in summer 2004, and have used it a lot ever since, but I have kept it in very good condition. For most of its life the back had a plastic protective cover over it, and for the rest of the time it's been kept in a Radtech Podsleevz case. Therefore the back is bereft of any major scratches, and the screen is crystal clear in all but the most extreme light (such as a camera flash) - any scratches are very superficial on the screen.
I should note, by the way, that this is the model with the black and white screen, not the colour one.
This was the last set of iPods (I believe) which shipped with the shedload of accessories, and the iPod I'm selling includes the following:
• Dock
• USB 2 cable
• Firewire cable
• AC adapter NOTE - I purchased this iPod while I was living in France, and this therefore comes with a two pin continental adapter. Voltages are the same as a UK plug, however, and converters are available in most good pound shops near you. (On a side note, my Dad always told me that it was OK to jam it into the bottom two holes in a standard British wall socket, but this is something I never tried and can't verify either way. Don't try it unless you know what you're doing. :))
I no longer have the earphones, and these are therefore not included.
Battery life is excellent. I haven't timed it, but all I can say is that in the time I've had it, the battery has only actively run out on me once, and that was on a 16 hour day trip to London. Invariably it will have lost some of its capacity in the 20 or so months since I've had it, but I think it really isn't too far off the original 12 hour capacity Apple claimed for this model, and is certainly above average for its age - I've taken very good care of it.
I have no interest in parting the individual components out, so please don't ask.
As I said, I'm selling for financial reasons, and would risk an Ebay auction instead of accepting a low offer from here. That's a polite way of requesting that anyone with a ridiculous offer not waste their time. :D ;)
I would prefer payment by bank transfer to my Lloyds TSB account to reduce my charges, but I would also accept a transfer from a Paypal balance (no credit cards). I believe that insured shipping by Royal Mail Special Delivery would cost £7.99 within the UK, this is something I will verify when I can.
I'm also happy for a buyer to collect it from me in Stoke-on-Trent and pay in cash.
Now the fun bit - time for the photos. :)

And here's a short video showing me using it (http://www.mikeserieys.co.uk/video/thequicksilveripod.MOV) (376KB, wait for it to fully load).
Any further questions please contact me. Thanks for reading.
