I did a brief search but am curious. Nvidia recently released the 7500 for G5 dual core and quad with spiffy PCe (stands for PC express not PC X) technology.

I made the mistake of buy that card for my PC X old dual 2.5 g5 only to find out that it doesn;t work.

So my question is what is the best card out there for us none PCe folks I have Nvide 6800 gt but the 7000k series blows everything out of the water yet. Can we expect a AGP 8x version soon?

PCI-X is not made for Graphics Cards. Our Computers have AGP 8x. I have a PowerMac G5 1.8Ghz and have a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. The X850XT is probably the best card for AGP 8x. The 6800 Ultra is the best of Nvidia's cards.

The X850XT is probably the best AGP 8x card for the Power Mac G5. If you can find one, it would be well worth the money. :)

I was looking at graphics cards yesterday, and, oddly enough, nVidia have their 7900 (I think it was the 7900) as having Mac OSX as one of the available OS requirements. Starting to look good, eh?

The link for the Tech Specs for the 7900 goes to a generic GeForce 7 series page. It says Mac OS X because of the 7800 GT currently used in PowerMacs.
