Frame Rate issue

ok i know all the mac gamers here complain about the performance of mac graphic cards compared to 3GHZ P4s. I have the dual 1.25 FW 400 with ATI's 9000 inside.

I downloaded Return to castle wolfenstein and I play it at 1600x1200 with the highest possible graphics availible. Since I'm not a big gamer I understand that frames drop as you increase the resolution. So how come I can play the game at its highest settings and my mac has no issues with it.

Also how do find out how many frames youre getting as youre playing a game?
