I have a Dell laptop for sale. It's got a few problems but it works. I'll start with the kinks. The battery is dead and the built in speakers don't work. The little center thing in the middle of the keyboard that you use for a mouse is gone but there's a trackpad so it shouldn't make a difference. Other than that the hedge is a little loose from wear so you might have to keep the screen somewhat perpendicular to the keyboard. The screen is fine, no dead pixels. I had an issue with the keyboard a few months ago. The row of keys from 8-i-k-, stopped working. I restarted it and it worked again. This happened about a dozen times but hasn't happened in the last few months, possibly because it's kept stationary.

I know it sounds like a lot of stuff wrong with this laptop but depending on your usage it's all pretty small stuff. This laptop works well for internet and other light usage. Here are the stats. I don't know how to check the speed of the processor (been using a Mac too long) so I'm just giving an estimate.

P3 600-700 mhz (I'm 95% sure of this)
14" screen
256 mb ram
20 gb hard drive
CD-Rom drive
Wireless card (The kind you insert)

$250 + shipping or best offer. I'll consider trades too because I've convinced my parents to replace this with a used mac mini. But I'll consider any mac that has OSX.

Processor speed: right-click on My Computer and go down to properties, the processor speed should show up there.

better idea -- hit F2 when you see the 'dell' at boot-up. will get you into the bios screen. first page will show you speed, model, video ram, etc. alt-p to scroll through the different pages, esc to exit. this would also be a good idea as it would check and see if the laptop is password protected. only way to fix if it is locked is a solder job. not fun. even with h4x0r sk1lz.
