AOE II Question!

I have AOEII for my PC. And i'm wanting to get it on my mac. Do i have to buy a Gold Edition or is there some Special Mac AOEII game? And once i get the game for my Mac can i somehow hook my PC and Mac up and have a battle between the two computers like i can with a PC and PC? Or will the PC and Mac not work together on this game?

I have it on the Mac, and it plays fine. I have the "conquerers edition". :-)

HOWEVER, according to the manual, you cannot play between a PC and a Mac on a LAN. Apparently there is some kind of incompatibility. You can play with PC users on the GameRanger servers. :-(

I haven't tried the GameRangers yet. I'm about halfway thru the Joan of Arc scenario, and I also started the Barbarossa one but haven't gotten far.

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds is an amazingly similar game but in a Star Wars tech world. Non-surprisingly, it has the same LAN-play limitation. :-(
