I think it's Crack/Cocaine. Cocaine is a powder, and crack has been purified into solid rocks that you can smoke I guess.

There's a good chance that's entirely wrong.

Then what is Crack Cocaine?

Actually I should correct myself. What is colloquially referred to as cocaine is really cocaine hydrochloride, a salt of cocaine. It is made by treating the extracted raw paste with hydrochloric acid.

Crack is the powder, cocaine hydrochloride converted back into a base. Usually using baking soda which is alkaline. A salt is soluble in water and cannot be smoked, a base is not suluble in water. Smoking the base is similar in effect to injecting the salt.

I understand now. I always thought they were the same thing, but now I am enlightened.
