I recently sold my 17" PowerBook, so I have this excellent case. It has metal hardware (no flimsy plastic junk here!), neoprene insides, wrapped in a ballistic-nylon shell. This is a serious case for serious protection. It's easy to clean, just wipe it off. You can throw it over your shoulder with the included strap... virtually the best, lightest way to carry a 17-inch. 6.9 pounds never felt so good. It's nearly as slim as the PowerBook itself, so you can throw in another bag easily.
The orientation is horizontal, and it includes the "piggyback" which lets you carry goodies like AC adapter, iPod, in very soft material. It also has the ballistic nylon on the outside, and attaches to the Sleevecase.
Custom made for the exact dimensions of a 17" PowerBook in San Francisco. Perfect condition. Overall it cost me $95... give me offers. :)
Pictures to come.
EDIT: I can't find the "piggyback". I probably left it at my friend's house.
