i have an old win2k box, and i would like to use it as a print server so that I can print from my TiBook via my LAN at home. i have played with this a little bit, but haven't had any luck, and was wondering if anybody had any experience doing this. thanks

do either of these address the issue of getting a mac to print to a pc?
i just skimmed, but i didn't see any mention of mac configuration.
i have a win98 box at home, and i have printed to it from my Tibook. basically, what you have to do (what i did), is set up the printer for sharing over the network, and then get gimp-print and ghostscript from http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net.
then follow the instructions here: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/p_FAQ_OS_X.php3#sambaSetup
that should let you print to windows. it's kinda funky to set up, but you only have to do that once. make sure that your w2k server has a static IP address--as in, you don't want a DHCP router giving it a different IP address each time it logs onto the router, because that will throw off your printer driver. good luck!
