can i sell it here? fair enough if not :)

thought i'd offer the MR crowd first dibs on it before i list it on eBay...

i know nothing about guitars, but i do know this one is worth about $1800 retail, with case.

it's a Takamine EF 360 SC - with the "dreadnought" case. it's an electric acoustic, apparently...with a single cut-away, so i've been told. like i said i know nothing about guitars.

it really is a beautiful guitar, and it's barely been used (if at all). it does however have a scratch on the front, which i've tried to photograph as best i can. it doesn't affect the guitar in any way, other than the way it looks. i'm sure it can be "repaired" fairly easily.

i have seen these new at discount websites for about $1300 so if i can get fairly close to that i'll be happy. anyone interested?

i have more pictures i can send if anyone wants.

thanks for looking!

Just wanted to say, I have this guitar, it is EXCELLENT. Also, I bought mine brand new for $1000, so you might want to lower your asking price.

So why do you have it if you know nothing about guitars? (Just curious how people acquire things :)).

i'm selling it on behalf of my mother-in-law, who bought it from the original owner (was basically forced to buy it, it's a long story).

Is the back a solid back or is it two pieces together? This changes the tone ALOT! Not bad or good, but there is a preference.
What wood is it?

Here are specs from an eBay auction. The seller looks knowledgable but caveat emptor

"Takamine EF 360

* Solid Spruce Top
* Solid Rosewood Back
* Rosewood Sides
* Rosewood Fingerboard
* Gold Hardware w/ Wood / Acrylic Inlays
* Takamine CT4B EQ/ Tuner Electronics

This model has some cool features. The inlays are unique with the wood/acrylic combination. Plus, it has a built-in auto-chromatic tuner in the CT-4B EQ."

From the OP's pictures, it looks very much like a 2-piece bookmatched rosewood back.
