Just dropped prices -- I have three hds for sale

A 60 gig 5400 RPM Toshiba with 16mb cache, used in an external enclosure a few times and never installed, with way more than two years left on the warranty. 70 no now 60 bucks shipped to US/UK/CAN

A 60gig 7200 Hitachi Travelstar hd, used for two weeks in my old Tibook, purchased last summer from Daystar for 235 bucks, still with its three year warranty -- 110 now 99 bucks shipped to US/UK/CAN.

An 80 gig 5400rpm Toshiba 16mb cache, never installed, purchased in November with three year warranty, 90 bucks now 80 bucks shipped.

I'd rather ship to US/UK/Canada only for insurance reasons. Will only ship with full insurance for both our protection and by priorty mail USPS. I'm in Los Angeles

Will this work in the lastest rev. 12' iBook G4?

Of course. That's actually what I bought it for. So I could double the 40gig OEM 4200 drive with a bigger, faster and larger cached drive. These are the same upgraded drives Apple uses by the way.

What's the cache? Yeah, I don't know. Sorry, ok? But I think I'm interested... just maybe not right now... because the price is USD and I am CAN$... anyway has there been any other interest? * I do want the 80GB, as I want more, not faster, lol (I have just over 10 free now so...). cheers!

The way I understand cache is that cache size means that the drive can access more information in one initial "gulp" without stressing the drive or CPU or ram.

Makes the 54000rpm 16mb drives almost as fast on processes as the 8mb cached 7200rpm drives.

This is according to the Apple Techs at Daystar, who explained it to me.

The 4200rmp 40gig hard drives that came in your iBook only have a 2mb cache! So the 80 gig is a lot faster as well as bigger.

I have PayPal so PM me.
