cd/rw making funny noises, I think.

Hello, I am using an iBook 700mhrz (mhz)? Anyway, when I run a cd in the drive, especially my install cd's, the drive makes a whole bunch of "cshuuk, cshuuk, chuck, chuck" type sounds as if it is starting and stopping at rapid rates. The drive does read the cd's and works, but I just want to make sure nothing is wrong with the drive itself. I also use a toshiba satellite laptop and all it does is make a smooth whirring sound. Anyway... is it all CD's while running, also it might be a certain position while running it.

yes, it is all cd's. the sounds are usually at the start, after running a while, they seem to subside and fall into the "whirring smoothly" category. And what is Wtf?
