anybody here turning 30? 40? 50? 60? older?

i will be 40 this year and for once i do not feel that young anymore both physically and psychologically

thirty was a real bummer because i was trying to compare myself to everybody else...these days i don't do that but now i think about slowing down certain aspects of my life and looking toward more attainable pursuits

hairline is just a little higher and there is some gray, but the difference in how i feel is internal

anybody been there...official middle age?

I just turned 25. Does that count?? I get a new license and pay less for car insurance and renting a car. That's got to count for SOMETHING.

That is about all I've got in common with you old farts. :eek:

A bunch of people at work were trying to turn my 25th into a "its all downhill from here" kinda day. I think they were all just trying to drag me down with them. :D

errr....

i would consider mid- to late-20s the prime of life, even going into the mid-30s.

i would consider 80 years old though...

Its actually scary how much I feel just like I did when I was in high school or college. Even after getting a job and establishing myself away from my parents, I'm still waiting for that moment when I feel like a "real" adult.

So maybe that's what being in the prime of your life is all about: you have all the priviledges of being an adult, and yet are still free from the total responsibility and weight of feeling like one.

I'm enjoying myself. ;)

honestly though...I know I can pass for younger more often than not...

very often I speak to a client on the phone numerous times before meeting him/her in person...they are usually not expecting what they see...he he... ;)

I'll be 36 in March. I still feel young, but physically, my body has began to deteriorate slightly. This makes it harder to get up in the morning, and especially to start moving around. I'm fitter now than any time in the last 15 years, passed my black belt in Aikido last summer, then added an MMus masters degree in September.

Competing in the Tomiki Aikido World Champs in Leeds, England this summer, training hard.

If I lose my fluidity of thought or expression I might start to feel old, as of now, not at all, and I spend most of my time with 18-25 year-olds at the Uni where I lecture.

Age is a state of mind.:D

I just turned 27. What makes me feel old are my two kids. I will meet up with old highschool friends and think they are so young and immature. Mabey it is the responsibility... Mabey it is the fact that my oldest is going to kindergarten at the school I went to next year....

I feel like I am in my mid to late thirties. And alot of my business relations guess that as my age too. I guess Age is just how old you feel.

that is great...i can picture you as one who never retires and runs a marathon for their 55th birthday instead of going to denny's restaurant for the 55 and over menu

In Australia, as soon as you turn 16 you can go sit a written test to obtain a Learner's permit, which means you can drive, but only with a fully licensed person along side of you. Then, 6 months later (when you're 16 1/2), you take a practical test (alternate option is the logbook, where you execute each maneuver and get them ticked off accordingly) to get your Provisional license. Basically, you have your P's until you hit 19... and THEN you get your full licence.

I turned 40 two years ago and tried to used it to my advantage - I gave up smoking, started going to the gym, got my bad back fixed with exercise and started to look forward to the future.

I would honestly hate to be a youngster now!

That sounds very similar to what Texas has implemented.

The Learner's permit is simply known as a "Permit" in the States. ;)

You can get it when you are 15.

when i was a kid...in the 60s-70s, there was this one 15 year old who got his full california driver's license on his birthday and his permit six months before

...he had some sort of farm exemption and we thought he was so cool driving to 8th grade...since under normal conditions, the earliest we saw a kid drive was in freshman year

it was good that he got all that attention and adoration, because he died from cancer before he even reached grade 9 at high school

I turn 30 this year. And honestly, I don't feel 30. But then again, what does 30 feel like? I manage a store in a mall, so I still associate with people in their teens and early 20's and sometimes wish I was that age again.

but then again, i don't look a day over 21, so i'll b alright. ;)

my brother turned 30 last year. was a good time.. he's about 4'1"
