Mac gamers answer to CS

There is a mod for the quake 3 engine that looks alot like CS and may improve upon it alot, check it out at urbanterror.net I don't know about you all but once my laptop comes in Im gonna try it out.

I have it, it's cool. But make sure you are running quake 1.3.2, urban terror 2.6 full, and then download the 2.6a update. enjoy...

Its pretty cool. I have Quake 1.3.2, and then I just downloaded the full version of Urban Terror.

I took screen shots, but they didnt turn out. It runs pretty good...

I have a g4 400MHz Sawtooth with 768MB of RAM, and a Radeon Mac Edition (32MB DDR)

On the top noche setting, i get about 20-30fps

On the "fastest" setting, I get around 50fps.

I just bought a brand new laptop with 640 ram that should run it correct, also for those of you who have played CS could you give me some sort of idea as to how they stack up against each other in as many aspects as you are willing?

This is so weird...
There is a quake mod made to look like CS.

There is a Unreal Mod to made to look like CS.

Now what does this tell me...?

Well... this tells you that CS is an awesome game.

Quake engine can't copy CS, the guns don't bounce, you don't have flashbang grenades and stuff. There's no real team strategy to it.

As far as "Wolfenstein" Sure, it's kind of like Day of Defeat (another half-life mod) But if I had to compare the two, DoD would win hands down. Sure I play Wolfenstein (installed it about an hour ago) Stupid servers won't appear, and the guns don't move at all, it's goofy. When you shoot a gun, it goes up, that's all there is to it.

If you haven't played CS< and you have a friend who has it on their PC (*how I play*) Go try it out... and then, write Valve and tell them to port the thing.

CS is a good game, but an old engine. As for DOD try The third reich mod for unreal.

It is great as far as teamplay and far prettier than DOD(my opinion). And before you ask there are no crosshairs in it only iron sights.

I believ there are better engines than the half life one, but as far as mods go CS is still one of the best.

No, I know CS is a killer game...

I'm forced to go to PC game places to play and they cost me $$... :(

I'll try to get Unreal and Quake because no one can answer which has better mods.

i used to play the CS esque mod for untreal tournament and it was prety good, i like the idea of bot which are not available in CS (well not when i used to play it) but i have to say the mod was very good but it could never really beat CS, theres just something about it.....

I agree the Tac Ops ai is far superior to CS
