Well, I've been traveling quite a bit lately and have been thinking of replacing the iMac with a Macbook or Mackbook Pro. I was wondering how much I could get out of the iMac the specs are below:
iMac G5 Rev A 20" 1.8Ghz G5/DVD Burner/Airport/2GB Ram/160GB HD
OSX 10.4
iLife 06
Apple Bluetooth Keyboard
Cheap Bluetooth Dongle (works great)
Apple Mouse
Logitech v900 Bluetooth Mouse
Applecare till '08

You'd be lucky to see over $900. It's $1099 refurbished but the G5 value here is dropping. Applecare is nice and people prefer internal Bluetooth.

Hi
Hard to say. My setup (http://cgi1.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemWithCategory&item=8793690181) went for under $1k on eBay a little over a month ago.
Somewhere between $900 and $1k methinks. Are you including the original 10.4 and iLife '06 install media? If so, that would help.

Wow, it really drops a lot! But I think you can get at least for $1000 thinking of 2GB ram and Applecare. Maybe you want to try craigslist for $1200. People here just want to by Intel iMac now I guess.

Eidorian got it right. You have to start with Apple's refurb pricing and adjust up/down from there. If you have the time try eBay. It's your best bet for getting top value.
Even with the RAM I don't see any knowledgable person spending more than $1100 for your system. I think most people would rather just get the 17" iMac with duo core for about the same cost.
You may be better off parting out some of the RAM and selling the bluetooth stuff seperately too.

Why, thanks guys. I try to provide accurate pricing for Mac sales whenever I can. I didn't think I'd be doing this well though. I'll be hanging onto my iMac G5 until it dies. The resale value whenever 10.5/iLife '07 comes out won't be worth losing a GOOD computer while trying to lower the cost of buying another one.
