Sorry for this question, but iīm a newbie.... I have downloaded a .dmg file. How can I do for run it? do I need any special software?
When I try to run the file, a message box appears that says "Couldnīt find the application programm that created the document name "xxxx.dmg". To open bla blabla"

i dont think dmgs work in os 9, i may be wrong.
Why arent you running Jaguar???

Anyway, you might be able to download some third party software off the web to unpack it.

well i looked, and it says .dmgs are for os x only :-( But what is it that you are trying to download? Maybe there is a classic version of it.

what is it in the .DMG you want? they usually just have apps for OS X. i can't imagine they would put an OS 9 app in a .dmg file...

can you find somebody with OS X to take the dmg and use stuffit to make a file you can open? i would imagine that ISOs would work too.
