Everyone is wrong about hackers

Allow me to indulge you into my rage:

Every single insignificant human being out there who says there's something wrong with their system saying "I think it's a hacker," and those who say "My computer got hacked" should all DIE DIE DIE! All those ignorant fools deserve to die a long, slow, and dreadfully painful death from which there is no return or relief, just infinite pain where one never descends to the after life! All members of the media and anyone in general that is stupid and discriminates against hackers in this way are prejudiced and should be arrested for discrimination and racism. You should all be subject to the horrible existence which I have described! None of you idiots would have your computers or internet without hackers. Hackers created the internet dammit! Hacking is about curiosity and figuring out how things work. All those who penetrate systems and send viruses are NOT HACKERS. Hackers are non-destructive and well natured. All the hypocrites that leave their systems so wide open that you could drive a truck through them should not just sit on their ass and say "Ummm, duhh, it was a hacker, duhh, there's nothing we could do." Any idiot can connect to a server and download something. It takes no intelligence at all and certainly doesn't involve any hacking. It's your fault for leaving yourself vulnerable. There's no reason at all for so much sensitive and private data to be online in the first place. If you don't want people taking it then don't make it available! Here's a standard quote from your average system admin, "Duhh, umm, yeahh, uhh, why did that dude take my apple from that basket of apples which I labeled 'Take one'?" Don't invite someone to your domain if you don't want them there! As for the asses in broadcasting and the work place, why don't you call people sending viruses vandals? They're vandalizing your property so they're vandals! Get it right the first time and speak intelligently! You're ruining innocent people's lives when you become prejudiced and stupid.

while true, i wouldn't expect anyone to believe you-- people are stupid, plain and simple.

i'm fairly good with a lot of stuff and love playing around on computers, so i've been blamed for hacking before. hell, my entire family and many friends still think i hacked my old HS website to include a porn link. give me a break. billicus, if you're reading, did they ever find out who actually did it?

Funny...I was under the impression the internet came by way of the US government's ARPANET project and Tim Berners-Lee's concept of the World Wide Web...oh yeah, and Al Gore. ;)

I'm a hacker. I'm also a lurker, a snake, an adopted punk child, and, to a degree, respect what you are saying, Mody. If people weren't curious or creative about so many things, you would be sitting on a mantle in a candle-lit room with your family without electricity, you would still be using horse-travel, and you would not be reading this on a computer or through the internet, regardless of who invented it.

But I'm not sure if your expressive opinion was called for. Did someone suddenly spark you to mention it that way? Or was it just a bunch of "people"?

I know I was a little harsh, actually you're right that someone sparked me at the moment. The whole thing pisses me off but someone I know came to me a couple minutes before that and said that their computer systems at work were messed up and they say "we think it's a hacker," and when I said once again why what they said was wrong they remarked "then why are so many computers getting HACKED?" And that sent me off into profanity screaming fit. :P

Since I'm a *female* hacker nobody believes me. So one day I walk into class, do my little keynote presentation about an introduction to computer processors (as a science project) and when I'm done, there's still about 15 minutes of class left...not enough to teach, not enough for someone else to present their project.
People absolutely adored the powerbook i was using for my presentation. One of the guys in class come up and they're like i'm a hacker and i'm going to hack your password.
So i said Fine, i'd love to see you try. He spends a minute guessing the password (love, god, sex, secret, my name, etc.) and sayz I'm gonna send you a virus if you don't tell me what the password is. So i tell him and he still can't get it right so he finally tells me he's gonna (do something) to my Mac.
I tell him to go away or else I'd hack his computer and make him regret ever saying that steve jobs is a cannibalistic communist moron. He didn't get it and he regretted ever laying his filthy fingers on the powerbook ;)
