Hey there!
Remember that G3 desktop I was going to give away for free earlier?
Well, I have since been tinkering with it and upgraded it quite a bit.
Specs:
Beige G3 Desktop@ 333MHz w/83MHz FSB (Overclocked from 300MHz w/67MHz FSB -- runs cool and stable)
512MB RAM (two 256MB sticks)
15GB HD
DVD-ROM (Authentic Apple)
Iomega Zip 100
16MB ATI Rage 128 VGA Graphics (Upgraded from internal 2MB)
OS X 10.2.8 w/Lotsa Goodies (& all updates) installed
This computer is now very good at handling pretty much any simpler things you throw at it. FireFox, VLC, iTunes, and MSN all run great at the same time. The faster clock speed makes this a viable, useable computer for the most part. iMovie was fun to tinker with, until I broke my only PCI FireWire card. Rendering times are not awesome, but its cool just for simple playing around.
Don't really know what to ask for this. Does $70, shipped sound OK? The only thing is that the PRAM should be replaced, but those are like $4.99 batteries. Once you do that, you could use XPostFacto to put 10.3 or 10.4 on.
